dear all, today every rti activist of India and abroad has the job of analysing the Supreme court verdict WP(Civil) No. 210 of 2012] on RTI act . i am a simple rti user turned activist and does not possess much of legal knowledge. i work 75% from heart and 25% from mind. i believe RTI act has to be in its simplest form so that even an illiterate can use it. but shall it be possible now.the already slow working of info-commissions may become so slow that it may lead to a situation when the grandfather applies for RTI and grandson gets the info. it may defeat the very purpose of the RTI act's 30 day's time limit. proper compliance of 4(1)(b),proper categorization of documents and of course coherency in adopting doctrine of precedence shall make things smooth for rti. a first hand look at the verdict makes me write that we should While Honoring the Supreme court verdict WP(Civil) No. 210 of 2012] on RTI act be prepared to challange it in SCI , if possible. or else,we all are here to see what happens to RTI and INfo-Commissions in INDIA. regards urvashi |
